The Edmonton Oilers aquired Lubomir Visnovsky from The Kings for Matt Greene and Jarret Stoll.
Who's The Lube married to? Will he last more than a year in Edmonton? I have no idea.
What will this mean for The Oilers? What will this mean for The Kings? What will this mean for me? Am I back?
Looks like a pretty decent trade for both teams. Edmonton gets a potential franchise defenseman, The Kings dump Visnovsky's monster five-year contract that kicks in this season. Five years at 7.0, 7.0, 6.0, 5.0 and 3.0 for a cap hit of 5.6 million a year.
Oh never mind. I'm an uninformed foo'.
Here are the rules regarding NTC's . Section 11.8 -a, of the CBA.
If the Player is Traded or claimed on Waivers prior to the no-Trade or no-move clause taking effect, the clause does not bind the acquiring Club. An acquiring Club may agree to continue to be bound by the no-Trade or no-move clause, which agreement shall be evidenced in writing to the Player, Central Registry and the NHLPA, in accordance with Exhibit 3 hereof.
Cool.
Oh yeah, the Kings get Stoll and Greene. Meh. I guess that means Brad Stuart isn't coming back to LA. I presume Greene will fill his shoes/skates next year. Stoll used to be good but from what I hear he's been injured in the past. Stoll's a Restricted Free Agent this year.
I wonder what Kevin Lowe will get for Pitkänen? Mike Santorelli and Craig Switzer from Nashville? Jori Lehtera from The Blues? Gilbert Brule and Jared Boll from Columbus?
(I'm just making these trades up Garrioch, don't quote me as an unnamed source mmkay?).. ()?)
What if.. And this is just pure speculation (SPECULATION, YOU HEAR ME GARRIOCH!?): What if Lombardi has his eyes on Wade Redden. I know I'd rather have.. oh I don't know.. Wade Redden? for $5-6.5 million a year for the next five years than what I'd be paying Lube.

Oil + Lube = clever
In all the oilogosphere, you're the first!
You do realize this is ostensibly a Blues blog, right?
I only wish I was a part of the excellence that is the oilogosphere. Not so much that I'm rooting for your team, just that The Alberta blogosphere rules them all, closely followed by the Battle of California.
Doogie: Yeah, I know. I'm going to do more Blues stuff. I'm just waiting for the frenzy to die down a bit before I analyze The Blues.
Thanks for reading.
Thanks to a link from CasonBlog, I just realized that you started posting again.
Keep it going!
