Rick Dudley - The Natural Man

Do you trust this man?

How many of you remember former Senators/Lightning/Panthers General Manager Rick Dudley? Some people say he had a great eye for talent, but as a General Manager he was unorganized and way in over his head.

The man with the second best Moustache the game has ever seen is now The Director of Player Personnel for The Mighty Blackhawks franchise. But let's forget about the present, and lets remember the past...

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you Rick Dudley, The Natural Man!

Yes! Everybody's favourite former GM, Rick Dudley issued
a song in 1975 called The Natural Man.

(Rick Dudley playing for the Cincinnati Stingers, 1975-76, 1977-78 & 1978-79)

Look at him. Rick "The Rock" Dudley! (Whatta man, whatta man, whatta mighty mighy good man?).

Kinda makes you want to forgive him for every bad trade he ever made. LIKE EVAR!

Still not sold?

How about the fact that he Doesn't Want You To Cry Woman!

(If the songs wont play, visit Stingershistory.com's multimedia page).

(If you're still not sold, I suggest you sit the fuck down, get romantic tonight with your wife, buy some wine, make her some food, play up the old song on the stereo and thank The Dudley when you get laid. Just because Dudley doesn't want her to cry!).

Anyhow...

Speaking of The Stingers. Might as well put up the Stingers Logo, one of the all-time great logos.

I think I've said it before, but they don't make them logos like that no more. The rationale for making them must've been something like this:

"They are called the Stingers, and they're form Cincinnati. Hmm, what should the logo look like? I know, a giant C shaped like a Bee. You know, a Stinger...geddit?"

It's a shame that they don't make the logos as simple as the used to make them.

A Buffalo and Two Sabres?. A tire with...Red Wings? Admit it, you love them!

Now, I'm about to convert the .WMA files to MP3's and load them up into my mobile phone and listen to them all night long.

I'll be seeing you.

The Dudley song was found over at Stingershistory.com. Another great WHA site that you must visit.

Howdy Ingmar-Nice props for the Stingers-my hometown team. I saw lots of Dudley, Claude LaRose, and my personal hero, Dale Smedsmo back in the '70's.

That's awesome!

I'm so inte the history of The WHA right now. Their logos, their jerseys, their players. I'm an art/design junkie and the WHA owners had some mighty fine tastes in that departement. The Crusaders (Also see, Kings, current Jerseys), Seals, Cowboys, Bulls, Blazers. Those were all darn good.

It's hard to imagine Dale Smedsmo being 25 years old. That's some mighty large 'stache he had there. He'd be the undisputed king of playoff beards for sure.
